Twelve men on a beach, and an idea nobody in Qatar had tried yet.

On 27 November 2021, as the light dropped over Katara Beach, Kallos held the first GCC calisthenics freestyle championship ever staged in the country. There was no blueprint to follow. No one in Qatar had built a freestyle calisthenics competition before, so Kallos built one from nothing, on the sand at Beach 5, backed by Katara, Alhazm, and Concorde Hotel Doha.

Twelve professional athletes came from across the Gulf to compete, drawn by a single idea: that bodyweight training deserved a stage of its own. From 3 to 7 PM they threw themselves into it in front of a crowd that had never seen freestyle calisthenics at this level, movements that look effortless only because of the years of failed attempts nobody in that crowd ever saw.

When the sun went down over Beach 5, three athletes stood above the rest. Nawaf Al-Saqr of Saudi Arabia took first place and QAR 10,000. Abdulrahman of Kuwait finished second, earning QAR 7,500. And in third, competing in the championship he founded, was Hamad Saif Al-Naimi of Qatar, the man behind Kallos Fitness, who claimed QAR 5,000.

That night on the beach was the start of something. What is now a real competitive calisthenics scene in Qatar grew from a handful of athletes who decided the sport deserved more than a corner of the gym.

Kallos has been building on it ever since. If you want to see what your own body is capable of, the bars are open. Come train with us.
